UiPath 2023.10 support has run out and 2024.10 is next. What we'd upgrade first
UiPath 2023.10 is out of support, and Automation Suite 2023.10 follows on November 3, 2026. If you're on standalone 2024.10, only the critical security fixes still come. We go through the dates, the upgrade routes UiPath allows and the order we'd move things in, so robots keep working during the move.
part 20 of 25 · Platform releases, explained from scratchthe ideaIf you're still on 2023.10, nobody's fixing it. 2024.10 has a year of urgent fixes left
after reading, you can- Spot the UiPath pieces still stuck on 2023.10 or 2024.10, and work out how much support each has left
- Pick the right 2025.10 upgrade route for your Orchestrator or Automation Suite, and get the server ready first
- Upgrade robots before Studio, so nothing a developer publishes breaks a job in production
UiPath's 2023.10 release is out of support for OrchestratordefinitionThink of it as the robots' dispatcher. It holds the schedules, queues and credentials, and tells each robot what to run next., Studio and robots, and Automation SuitedefinitionThe version of UiPath you host yourself on Kubernetes or Linux, with Orchestrator and the other services inside it. It has its own support dates, which trail standalone Orchestrator by days or weeks. 2023.10 follows on November 3, 2026. Standalone 2024.10 left mainstream support in October and now gets only critical security fixes. Automation Suite 2024.10 follows on November 11. If anything you run still says 2023.10, move it to 2025.10 now. If it says 2024.10, book that upgrade for the first half of 2027 so you aren't doing it in a panic next October.
The software that runs your company's robots has a support clock, and two versions just ran out of time
UiPath makes software robots. They log into the same screens your staff use and do the repetitive clicking: keying invoices into SAP, copying data between systems, closing tickets. A control tower called Orchestrator tells the robots what to run and when. Companies that host it themselves pick a long-term version and keep it for a few years. UiPath fixes problems in each version for about three years, and after that you're on your own. The 2023.10 version has reached that point. The 2024.10 version still gets urgent security fixes, but only until next October.
It's like an old car whose maker has stopped building parts. You can still drive it to work. But the day something breaks, the dealer can't fix it, and you're hunting for parts on your own.
- Anyone running Orchestrator on their own servers
- Automation Suite users (their dates run later)
- Automation Centre of Excellence leads
- IT teams that patch the robot machines
- Auditors who check software is still supported
Why it matters to you
Robots usually sit in the middle of money and customer work. When one stops, invoices pile up and someone in finance keys them by hand until it's fixed. On an unsupported version, UiPath's support team won't help with that outage, and it won't send a fix if the bug is theirs.
2024.10 is in a quieter kind of trouble. UiPath's support terms say extended supportdefinitionThe third and last year of normal support. UiPath still fixes bugs and critical security holes. Anything rated lower stays open. still covers incidents, bug fixes and critical security fixes, but leaves out non-critical security fixes. So for the next year, medium-rated flaws in the version you run won't get patched. Most auditors will ask about that, and some cyber insurers too.
There's a fourth year for some customers. UiPath says Gold and Platinum support customers on 2024.10 can get Extended Support Plus, which covers incidents and workarounds but no security updates at all. Treat it as a safety net for a late project, since it won't keep you patched.
-
01 Release
Each October UiPath puts out one long-term version and names it after the year and month. That's the one self-hosted shops install and keep.
-
02 Mainstream, years 1 and 2
Bug fixes, workarounds and every security update still come through. 2025.10 sits here until late October 2027, which is why we'd land there.
-
03 Extended, year 3
Only bug fixes and the critical security fixes. 2024.10 moved here in October, so lesser flaws won't get patched.
-
04 Extended Support Plus, year 4
You only get this with Gold or Platinum support, and it starts with 2024.10. UiPath still helps with incidents and workarounds, but you won't see security updates.

05 Out of support
No help of any kind. Core 2023.10 products are here now, Automation Suite from November 3. A few add-ons such as AI Computer Vision run later.
Orchestrator on Automation Suite runs about 11 days to three weeks behind standalone Orchestrator, because UiPath tracks it as its own product. Check both if you run both. Small pieces can differ too: Action Center, Insights and Test Manager have their own dates on the lifecycle page, so look each one up rather than assuming it follows Orchestrator.
Some dates have already passed. Others will land in the middle of your upgrade
Most of these dates have passed. The rest can catch you mid-upgrade
Standalone Orchestrator, Insights, Action Center and Test Manager 2023.10 lost support on October 23. Studio, Robot and Assistant followed on October 25.
Almost every Automation Suite 2023.10 service loses extended support that day, Orchestrator included. AI Computer Vision is the one exception, and it runs to December 19, 2026.
Mainstream support ended October 21 for Orchestrator, Studio and Robot. Automation Suite 2024.10 follows on November 11.
UiPath's upgrade guide says Task Mining isn't available in 2.2510 and won't be visible after the upgrade. Plan for that before you move.
The official package feed moves to pkgs.uipath.com. On 2024.10 and 2025.10 you add the new feed by hand until a future patch does it.
Starting with 2026.10, the desktop clients install through the Platform Installer. Orchestrator's Auto Update policies won't reach them after that, so plan governance policies instead.
If you're on 2023.10, go straight to 2025.10. UiPath only publishes LTSdefinitionLong-term support. Each October UiPath puts out one of these for self-hosted customers, and keeps it supported for about three years. versions for self-hosted products now, so there's no point stopping on 2024.10 for a year and doing it all again.
The next LTS, 2026.10, is the other option, and it's a bigger change. Studio, Robot and Assistant move to a new installer there, and the Auto Update policies many teams use to push robot versions stop applying. There's also no standalone Test Manager 2026.10. Teams that want a quiet upgrade usually take 2025.10 now and look at 2026.10 once it has a few patches behind it.

The UiPath dates between now and the end of 2027
- Oct 21, 20262024.10 leaves mainstream
Orchestrator, Studio and Robot 2024.10 still get critical security fixes. Anything less serious stays unpatched from now on.
- Oct 25, 2026Studio and Robot 2023.10 out
The last 2023.10 desktop pieces lost support, two days after standalone Orchestrator.
- Nov 3, 2026Automation Suite 2023.10 out
Anything still on Automation Suite 2023.10 is unsupported after this.
- Nov 11, 2026Automation Suite 2024.10 leaves mainstream
It's the same position standalone 2024.10 is in, just three weeks later. Plan the two together.
- Apr 2027Old package feed removed
Orchestrator, Studio and robots still pointing at the Azure DevOps feed can't pull official packages.
- Oct 21, 20272024.10 out of extended support
After this, only Gold and Platinum customers get a limited fourth year. Everyone else is on their own.
- Nov 11, 2027Automation Suite 2024.10 out
2.2510 leaves mainstream support the same day.
How the upgrade to 2025.10 actually runs
The installer is the easy part. For standalone Orchestrator, UiPath's update guide says to back up your packages, the web.config and UiPath.Orchestrator.dll.config files, and the database. If you run Insights, back up its database too, before Orchestrator. Then check the hardware and software pages for 2025.10, because they may have changed.
Robots are more forgiving than people expect. UiPath's compatibility matrix lists Robot 2023.10, 2024.10 and 2025.10 as working with Orchestrator 2025.10, so you can upgrade Orchestrator first and move the robot machines in waves after.
Studio is where teams get caught. UiPath doesn't support forward compatibility, and its matrix marks Studio 2025.10 as not compatible with Robot 2024.10. So if a developer upgrades Studio and publishes, that package may fail on robots still on 2024.10. Upgrade the robots that run a process before the developers who maintain it move to the new Studio.
- On 2023.10 nobody fixes anything and support can't help you. Expect auditors to ask why
- Stay on 2024.10 and you get critical security fixes until October 21, 2027. After that, nothing
- Developers can't move to the newer Studio, or the jobs they publish may fail on older robots
- The old package feed still has to be swapped by April 2027 anyway
- The upgrade still happens, closer to a deadline
- Full support again, security patches included, and nobody has to think about it until late October 2027
- Older robots keep running against the new Orchestrator, so you can move them a batch at a time
- Orchestrator needs the .NET 10 hosting bundle on the server first
- Automation Suite users lose Task Mining in 2.2510
- Windows - Legacy projects still open in Studio LTS, so conversion can wait
A typical self-hosted estate today, on mixed versions
Orchestrator and Insights on 2023.10 or 2024.10, robots on whatever the last upgrade left behind, and Studio pulling packages from the old Azure DevOps feed.
Once you've moved, every piece runs 2025.10 and pulls packages from the new feed
Orchestrator and Insights upgraded on the .NET 10 hosting bundle, robots moved in waves, and Studio upgraded last, pointed at pkgs.uipath.com.
The upgrade path, from inventory to cutover
- 01List what you actually run
Write down the exact build of every piece you run: Orchestrator, Insights, Action Center, Test Manager and each robot machine. Automation Suite teams need the build number most, because it decides which upgrade route UiPath lets you take.
- 02Check the server first
Get the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 10.0.x onto the server before anything else. Then compare your Windows Server and SQL Server versions with the 2025.10 list. If the server's too old, this is where the upgrade stops.
- 03Rehearse on a copy
Restore a production database backup into a test environment and run the upgrade there. Database migration errors show up here, where they're cheap.
- 04Upgrade Orchestrator and Insights
Back up packages, config files and both databases, then run the installer in a change window. Back up the Insights database before Orchestrator, as UiPath's guide says.
- 05Move robots, then Studio
Upgrade robot machines in waves, starting with low-risk processes. Developers move to Studio 2025.10 only after the robots running their processes have moved.
- 06Swap the package feed
Add pkgs.uipath.com to the outbound allowlist and to Orchestrator, Studio and robot settings, including machine images.
# Check the .NET runtimes first. If 10.0.x isn't listed, install the hosting bundle before you run anything else PS> dotnet --list-runtimes # Look for config files that still point at the old Azure DevOps feed. Each hit needs pkgs.uipath.com instead PS> sls .\*.config 'pkgs.dev.azure.com' # Copy the two Orchestrator config files somewhere safe, as UiPath's update guide says PS> Copy-Item web.config, UiPath.Orchestrator.dll.config D:\backup\
What to do now
What to do, by who you are
- Ask IT one question: which UiPath version runs Orchestrator, and is any of it 2023.10?
- If it's 2023.10, approve the upgrade as urgent work and give it a change window this quarter.
- If it's 2024.10, book the 2025.10 upgrade for the first half of next year. Give one person the job, or it'll drift to next October.
- Check your support tier. Extended Support Plus is only for Gold and Platinum customers, so don't count on a fourth year without it.
- Record exact builds for every component, robots included. Automation Suite users check the build against UiPath's upgrade matrix.
- Install the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 10.0.x on a test server and rehearse the upgrade on a restored database copy.
- Look for duplicate custom roles before the real run. Forum reports show those can fail the database migration.
- Add pkgs.uipath.com to the allowlist now, before anything depends on it.
- Don't move to Studio 2025.10 yet. Wait until the robots that run your processes have been upgraded, or your next publish may break them.
- List processes still built as Windows - Legacy projects. They still open in Studio LTS, so convert them on your own schedule.
- Search workflows for Generate Text Completion in the OpenAI and Azure OpenAI connectors. UiPath removed it on October 19, and OpenAI-connector jobs still using it fail. Switch to Generate Chat Completion.
- Add UiPath versions to your unsupported-software register. 2023.10 belongs there today.
- Write down that 2024.10 now only gets critical security fixes. Put October 21, 2027 next to it, so nobody's surprised when that runs out too.
Use the upgrade to make the next one easier
Durable fixes that ride along with this upgrade
- 01Put the LTS calendar in your plan
UiPath ships one LTS a year and supports it for about three. Book an upgrade every two years and you never reach extended support.
- 02Keep a regression pack per process
Most upgrade time goes on retesting processes. A short test per critical process turns the next upgrade into a run of those tests.
- 03Fix robot accounts while you're in there
Robots log into target systems with real accounts. Check each one only has the access its process uses, and move credentials into a vault.
- 04Clean up old roles and data
Clear out duplicate custom roles in Orchestrator before you start. On Automation Suite, UiPath also recommends archiving or purging old data from high-volume tables first. Huge tables slow the database migration down, and sometimes break it.
If the upgrade goes wrong
Robots stopped, or Orchestrator won't come back up? Work through it in this order
Most failures come from a missed prerequisite, a database migration error or a Studio and Robot version mismatch. Work through it in order, and keep the backups untouched until production has run cleanly for a week.
- 01Containfirst hour
- Stop scheduled triggers for business-critical processes so failed jobs don't pile up queue items.
- Tell the teams who depend on those robots. Agree who keys urgent work by hand until the robots are back.
- 02Find the causefirst hours
- Read the installer log. A line like 'Migration failed: An item with the same key has already been added' points at duplicate records in the database.
- Orchestrator won't start? Check the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 10.0.x is on the server. It's the usual suspect.
- If only some jobs fail, compare the Studio version that published the package with the robot version running it.
- 03Roll back or fix forwardfirst day
- Standalone: restore the database, packages and config files from the pre-upgrade backup and reinstall the old version.
- On Automation Suite in place, UiPath says an unrecoverable failure means rolling back through backup and restore. If you went side-by-side, just switch traffic back to the old cluster.
- Republish a failing package from the older Studio if the robot can't be upgraded straight away.
- 04Recover and learnfirst week
- Turn triggers back on one process at a time. Watch the first few runs of each before you move to the next.
- Write down what failed and add a check for it to the rehearsal list for the next upgrade.
What it looks like in real estates
Three UiPath setups you'll probably recognise, and what we'd do in each one
- the setup
- Accounts payable runs about forty unattended processes on Orchestrator 2023.10, on a Windows server nobody has touched since it was built. Insights feeds a monthly savings report.
- what happens
- Support has already ended. The next time a robot hangs on an Orchestrator bug, UiPath support can't help, and audit flags the version as unsupported.
- what to do
- Go straight to 2025.10. Install the .NET 10 hosting bundle and rehearse on a database copy. Then back up the Insights database, upgrade Orchestrator and Insights, and move robots in waves.
- the setup
- A shared-services team runs Automation Suite on Linux, on build 2023.10.4, with Document Understanding and Apps in daily use. Extended support ends November 3.
- what happens
- UiPath's matrix doesn't allow a single jump from that build. It goes through 2024.10.6 first, then 2.2510.3. A team that skips the hop risks a failed internal component upgrade mid-change.
- what to do
- Back up the cluster and SQL database, follow the published path step by step, and check whether anyone still uses Task Mining, which 2.2510 drops.
- the setup
- Orchestrator is on 2024.10 and most robots are too. Two developers install Studio 2025.10 to try new activities and publish an update to a claims process.
- what happens
- The package was built with a newer Studio than the robots run. UiPath doesn't support forward compatibility, so the job may fail on the 2024.10 robots.
- what to do
- Republish from Studio 2024.10 for now. Then upgrade Orchestrator, move the robots, and let developers switch Studio last.
How Cohash helps
We upgrade UiPath estates to 2025.10: Orchestrator, Insights, Automation Suite and the robot fleet, with Windows - LegacydefinitionAn older Studio project type. Studio LTS still opens and edits these projects, and Studio has a built-in tool that converts them to the newer Windows type. conversion where it pays off. We start with an inventory of exact builds and processes, rehearse on a copy of your database, and move robots in waves. Read more on our UiPath page, or book an assessment if you'd like the version check done for you.
What to take from this
- 01
Orchestrator, Studio and Robot 2023.10 have no support left. Automation Suite users get until November 3, 2026, which isn't long enough to plan much.
- 02
2024.10 still gets critical security fixes until October 21, 2027, or November 11 on Automation Suite. After that it's on its own.
- 03
Still on 2023.10? Skip 2024.10 and go straight to 2025.10. Automation Suite teams should check their exact build against UiPath's upgrade matrix first.
- 04
Put the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 10.0.x on the server before the Orchestrator upgrade. UiPath requires it from 2025.10.3 on.
- 05
Upgrade the robots before Studio. A package built in Studio 2025.10 isn't supported on a 2024.10 robot, and that's where jobs fail.
- 06
Add pkgs.uipath.com to your allowlist now. The old package feed goes in April 2027.
01Is UiPath 2023.10 still supported?
No, apart from Automation Suite until November 3, 2026. Standalone Orchestrator, Insights, Action Center and Test Manager 2023.10 ended on October 23, 2026, and Studio, Robot and Assistant on October 25. A few add-ons such as AI Computer Vision run later, so check each one on UiPath's lifecycle page.
02When does UiPath 2024.10 support end?
It's already out of mainstream support. Orchestrator, Studio and Robot 2024.10 lost it on October 21, 2026, and the critical security fixes stop on October 21, 2027. Automation Suite runs three weeks later, on November 11 both years. Don't leave the upgrade until the last few months.
03Can we upgrade from 2023.10 straight to 2025.10?
For Robot and Studio, UiPath's compatibility tables don't require a stop on 2024.10. For Automation Suite on Linux, it depends on the build. 2023.10.10 to 2023.10.12 go straight to 2.2510.3, and earlier builds take one or more hops first. Check your exact build against UiPath's upgrade matrix.
04What is Extended Support Plus?
A fourth year of help for 2024.10, and only if you pay for Gold or Platinum support. UiPath will work incidents and suggest workarounds, but it won't send security updates. Its support page lists minimums of USD 15,000 a year for Gold and USD 50,000 for Platinum, so check your contract before you count on it.
05Do our robots have to be upgraded at the same time as Orchestrator?
No. UiPath lists Robot 2023.10, 2024.10 and 2025.10 as compatible with Orchestrator 2025.10, so robots can move in waves. Keep Studio behind the robots, because packages from a newer Studio aren't supported on older robots.
06Do we have to convert Windows - Legacy projects before upgrading?
No. Studio LTS still creates and edits them, though Studio STS doesn't. Converting in place can't be undone, so convert a copy and test it first.
07What happens to Task Mining on Automation Suite?
UiPath's 2.2510 upgrade guide says Task Mining isn't available in that version and won't be visible after the upgrade. If anyone depends on it, sort out the alternative before you move.

-
Q1Orchestrator still runs 2023.10 and there's money for one upgrade this quarter. Where should it land?
show the answer
B. 2025.10, the current LTS in mainstream support 2024.10 is already down to critical fixes and ends next October. Extended Support Plus starts with 2024.10, so it doesn't cover 2023.10. 2025.10 gives the longest supported runway now.
-
Q2A developer publishes a process from Studio 2025.10 and it fails on the production robots. Orchestrator and robots are on 2024.10. What's the likely cause?
show the answer
D. UiPath doesn't support running newer Studio packages on older robots UiPath doesn't support forward compatibility, and its matrix marks Studio 2025.10 as not compatible with Robot 2024.10. That's why we'd upgrade the robots before anyone moves Studio.
-
Q3Someone on the team says the cluster is on 2023.10.11. Can it go straight to 2.2510?
show the answer
A. Builds 2023.10.10 to 2023.10.12 go straight to 2.2510.3 UiPath's in-place matrix sends 2023.10.10 to 2023.10.12 straight to 2.2510.3. Earlier builds have to stop on one or more intermediate versions first.
