Denver builds rockets, pays Medicaid claims and tracks oil wells. Each one has its own access problem.

Front Range employers range from launch companies to the state Medicaid agency to producers who answer to the state oil and gas commission. Colorado also asks a lot of them. Breach notices have a 30-day clock, the Attorney General enforces a privacy act, and insurers must test their models for unfair discrimination.

in short·15-second read

For Denver organizations we handle workforce and customer identity, privileged access, machine credentials, and the data pipelines behind analytics and AI.

Aerospace teams need controlled access for engineers and suppliers. Health organizations need governed claims and clinical data. Insurers need model records that Colorado regulators can review. Cohash serves Denver remotely from Frisco, Texas, and travels in for workshops and launches.

Cohash has no office in Colorado. Our US base is Frisco, Texas, so Denver engagements run remotely, and we fly in for discovery sessions, design workshops and go-live support.

who and what

Who we work with in Denver, and the rules they work under

industries
  1. Launch, satellites and space hardware

Spacecraft and launch programs put employees, cleared contractors and supplier engineers into the same design tools and ground systems. Export-controlled data means access has to follow citizenship and contract terms, which HR attributes rarely capture. We build entitlement models keyed to program and data classification, and put test and mission system admin access behind recorded sessions.

  2. Health systems and Medicaid

With more than 1.25 million people on Health First Colorado, providers, plans and state vendors trade eligibility and claims files all day. We design the integration layer and the governance around it, so analysts and AI pilots read from approved, de-identified datasets and nobody keeps a private copy of raw extracts.

  3. Oil and gas operators

Producers that report to the commission run field SCADA and historian systems that vendors often reach through shared accounts. We map every remote path into the field network, vault those credentials, and give OT engineers strong authentication at the jump host so console logins stay simple.

  4. Insurance and financial services

Colorado's SB21-169 makes insurers show the Division of Insurance how they test external data and predictive models for unfair discrimination. Much of that is data lineage. We catalog model inputs, record which datasets feed underwriting and claims models, and set up review workflows that leave an evidence trail.

regulations
  1. Colorado breach notification, C.R.S. §6-1-716 ↗

Covered entities must notify affected Coloradans no later than 30 days after determining that a breach occurred. When 500 or more residents are affected, the Attorney General gets notice on the same 30-day clock through its online reporting form. Government entities follow C.R.S. §24-73-103.

  2. Colorado Privacy Act ↗

In effect since 1 July 2023 and enforced by the Colorado Attorney General. Consumers can access, correct and delete their personal data and opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of their data.

  3. Colorado SB21-169 and Insurance Regulation 10-1-1 ↗

Insurers must test their use of external consumer data, algorithms and predictive models for unfair discrimination and show the Division of Insurance how they do it. An insurer that uses none of these files an officer-signed attestation each year by 1 December.

01Colorado gives us 30 days to notify. When does that clock start?

It starts on the date you determine a breach occurred. The intrusion itself may have happened weeks earlier. What slows most teams down is working out which accounts and systems were touched, so clean sign-in and privileged session logs buy you real time inside those 30 days.

02We're an insurer with SB21-169 testing duties. What part can you take on?

The data side. We inventory the external data sources and models used in each insurance practice, document lineage from source to decision, and build the access controls and change records around those models. Your actuaries and counsel own the testing method and the filing with the Division.

03Can engineers on export-controlled space programs share an identity platform with the rest of the company?

Yes, if the platform can see the attributes that matter. We add citizenship status, program assignment and data classification to the identity record, then let those attributes drive access to controlled repositories and tools. Most companies keep one directory and enforce the boundary through groups and conditional access.

04Can you fix vendor access into our field SCADA without being on site?

Most of it. Inventory, PAM onboarding and jump host policy can be done remotely. We plan a site visit for cutover, because changing how operators and contractors reach live control systems should happen with your OT team in the room.
